Used Pseries Server Did Not Break Budget
Our boss told us that our company had approved the new budget and it included us getting some new computer equipment for the office. I knew that we could find used equipment that would be much nicer than the stuff we were using now, and if we bought used then the money would go farther.
We needed a different server, so I found a used pseries server that had been refurbished and was priced about seventy percent less than a new one. That saved us thousands, the budget had allowed for much more than we paid for it.
The next thing that I found was used ibm printers for everyone in the entire office. We would not have to share printers anymore. I hate that when I go to print, the girl in the cubicle right next to me also prints at the exact same time and it gets jammed. I have dreamt of the day when I would have my own printer. The whole office is buzzing about the used ibm printers, and they are all so excited.
Even after we spent the money on the used pseries server and the used ibm printers, along with a couple of other things, we had a pretty big chunk of change left. We decided to just hold on to it, in case something popped up.
