The ad in the paper read, need to sell engagement ring to pay rent. I thought that it was very sad and called the number, to see if I could help out the poor couple who was going to sell the girls engagement ring just to stay living were they were at. I wondered why they did not just take the ring to a pawn shop and then when things got better, go back and get it.

The woman who answered the phone, was very nice and when she started to explain that the ad that was about how they needed to sell engagement ring was something her sister had done, she was very upset. Her sister did not have much, but since they were living together, they both had lost their jobs and the one who was supposed to be getting married thought that selling her ring would help them out.

I have heard of people who sell diamonds to make a little extra cash, but not the whole thing. I made a deal with them women and took the ring as collateral. I made sure that it was worth what I gave them and they had six months to pay me back. If not, I did tell them that I had a friend who does sell diamonds and I would take the stone out and get whatever I could for it.
